About The Low Bar
Serious about
making you laugh.
The Low Bar is an independent London-based comedy company creating and producing original live shows, comedy variety nights and community events.
Founded by a collective of comedians and improvisers, we started with a simple idea: comedy should be ambitious, playful and, above all, a brilliant night out.
Today, we create original comedy formats, collaborate with exciting performers and bring together talent from across London's comedy scene. From improvised adventures to big, ridiculous variety shows, we're interested in what happens when you give funny people the freedom to experiment, take risks and surprise an audience.
Our Shows
Elephant in the Room is our live comedy variety show at the iconic Royal Vauxhall Tavern, bringing together improv, stand-up, character comedy and alternative comedy for an unpredictable night of entertainment.
Whose Time Is It Anyway? is our original improvised time-travel comedy adventure, where the audience helps create the story and the performers discover it as they go.
Low Bar & Friends is our regular improv comedy night, featuring guest teams from London's improv scene alongside a welcoming, open community jam.
More Than
Just a Show
Alongside producing live comedy, we're building a community of comedians, improvisers and audiences who love discovering something new.
We want to create opportunities for performers, develop exciting new comedy formats and make live comedy accessible to people who might never have been to an improv show before.
Whatever the format, our ambition is the same: to make great comedy, bring brilliant people together and give audiences a night worth leaving the house for.
The bar is low.
Our ambitions aren't.
