Join The Low Bar

The Low Bar is on the lookout for one or two excellent improvisers to join our team.

We’re building a playful, ambitious ensemble focused on character, narrative and creating genuinely entertaining shows for an audience. We’re looking for people who want to contribute to the team, not simply attend rehearsals.

Experience & training

  • Completion of Hoopla Level 4, comparable training elsewhere, or equivalent performance experience.
  • Experience performing narrative or long-form improv is required.
  • Experience performing regularly with an existing team is a plus.

Who we’re looking for

Generous, committed performers who create strong characters, make bold choices and enjoy building stories collaboratively.

We’re especially interested in performers who bring authenticity and presence to their scenes. People who are comfortable letting moments breathe, committing emotionally and building genuine relationships rather than always reaching for the next joke.

We value warmth, reliability, playfulness and people who care about making the whole team and the show better.

Commitment

  • Regular evening rehearsals and performances in London.
  • A genuine commitment to developing a strong, distinctive live show.
  • Willingness to contribute beyond performing, whether through production, marketing, filming, show development or helping organise the team.
  • Enough availability to make The Low Bar a meaningful commitment rather than another occasional drop-in.

The process

We’ll begin with a series of open rehearsals, giving existing and prospective members a chance to play together without the pressure of a formal audition.

From there, we may invite a smaller group to additional rehearsals before confirming the new members.
